Since DIBA was established as an organization Fall 2009, it has had several meetings and with the help of its member has been planning several upcoming events. Recently, DIBA received an invitation from the University of Pittsburgh for the 2nd Annual Berg Cup Case Study Competition. The competition is sponsored by the University of Pittsburg’s Phi Beta Lambda Chapter, PITTBusiness, and the David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership. Universities from all over participate in this competition every year. The objective of the competition is to complete the case study assigned by the administrators of the competition successfully. The first place winner of the Berg Cup will receive $4,000 and the runner up will win $2,000. If DIBA were to win this money would go towards the organization and their funds for future events.

DIBA opened up the opportunity to its member for a chance for them to meet students from other universities in an exchange of ideas and skills which they have learned in their business courses and real world experience. DIBA has registered to participate in the competition and will be represented by a team of four members who showed the most interest and experience in participating.

The team consists of the following LeBow students:

Michelle Beech (Team Leader)
Prateek Agarrwal
Srajan Mani
Shang – Lin Tsai

These students will be taking part in a preliminary round beginning February 8th, 2010. If they succeed in solving that case they will move ahead to the Top 7 and go to University of Pittsburgh to compete for the Berg Cup and prize money in March.
